You need to get into the..

• it is overcomplicated

• dont let things compete for attention let alone
• guide thier eye
• if your user starts asking questions about having to navigate e.g. you have failed
  • confusion kills conversations
• ask yourself, is it immedailtiy clear what action i want to perform
• action: stick to conventions to help you
  • but wont it make my work boring
    • no its just good design
• just because it is simple does not make it easy - that is the catch
  • simplicity requiries:
    • attention to detail
    • a deep understanding of the user
    • discipline
• its not about what you add its about knowing what to leave it
  • understanding what to include and what to leave out will help you really understand your business and what is impotant to prospective clients
  • throwing a bunch of thigns on a page - i.e. including everything - is easy but your content will get lost. the main purpose will get lost.

  • does that fancy animation really help the user?
  • do you really need that many buttons?
  • do you really need to use all those colours?
  • do you really need that much text?
• the importance of visual ques is key
  • .e.g. for text, make it easy to scan
    • bullet points
    • header types - h1, h2 etc
• user flow diagrams are key to understanding how we turn complicated paths to simplified and clear oupotuts to help the user acheive their goal without even thinking
